About this bottle

Hard Truth 7 Year Sweet Mash Rye Whiskey is a whiskey from Hard Truth. Aged 7 years. Bottled at 107 proof (53.5% ABV) in a 750ml bottle.

From the producer

A milestone release from Hard Truth Distilling Co., this 7-year Sweet Mash Rye showcases the full payoff of the distillery's grain-to-glass sweet mash process — a method that starts every batch with fresh ingredients to draw out subtle grain character often lost in conventional sour mash production. Hard Truth's debut Sweet Mash Rye earned a place on Fred Minnick's Top 50 American Whiskeys list, and this seven-year expression takes that foundation even further.

The whiskey shows a deep auburn pour. Aromatically, expect maple, golden raisin, and plum layered with vanilla and a distinctive thread of fennel. The palate brings candied fruit and rye spice up front, easing into maple, cracked black pepper, and seasoned oak. The finish is warm and inviting — brûléed sugar and cherry syrup giving way to vanilla, fennel, and a final note of oak.
